ANTA Sports enhances the transparency and sustainability of its supply chain operations

(Hong Kong SAR, 4 October, 2024) – ANTA Sports Products Limited ("ANTA Sports" or the "Company", stock codes: 2020 (HKD counter) and 82020 (RMB counter), and its subsidiaries, collectively the "Group") is pleased to announce its positive progress in the field of supply chain sustainability. The concept of sustainable development is deeply integrated into ANTA Sports' corporate development strategy, and the Company is committed to encouraging suppliers to take practical actions to achieve a sustainable supply chain.

Promoting Solar Energy, Green Electricity Purchase, and Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction Projects

ANTA Sports is dedicated to promoting sustainable development across the value chain, including production and operations, to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions. Since implementing the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) in 2022, the Group has actively promoted energy saving and emission reduction projects within its supply chain. By empowering suppliers with relevant policies and technologies through professional third parties, ANTA Sports has advanced energy saving and emission reduction transformation projects in its self-operated factories and supply chain. These projects include, but are not limited to, solar energy installations, green electricity and Green Electricity Certificates (GECs), and Clean by Design (CbD).

As of the end of 2023, the Group had facilitated the installation of solar energy systems for 71 suppliers, with the solar energy power generation in the supply chain reaching 85,632,311 kWh. Currently, four of the Group's self-operated factories have installed solar energy systems, and the Group continues to encourage more suppliers to increase the ratio of solar energy power generation in their factories. In terms of green electricity and GECs, the supply chain's external green electricity purchase reached 94,542,716 kWh in 2023, with the annual external GECs purchase totaling 345,892,288 kWh. Through these projects, ANTA Sports has not only increased its own use of renewable energy but also further promoted sustainable energy use within the supply chain, contributing to the Group's carbon neutrality goals.

Simultaneously, ANTA Sports is preparing to launch the CbD project, designed to assist self-operated factories and suppliers in implementing scientific energy saving and emission reduction measures within their production processes. This project will be carried out based on actual situations to enhance the sustainability of the entire supply chain.

Transparency of Product Raw Material Sources

ANTA Sports is actively advancing the traceability of product raw materials, starting with leather materials in the first phase. Our leather processing plants are located in mainland China, and over the past three years, approximately 84% of the leather used in our products was sourced from the US, with about 16% coming from the Netherlands. Moving forward, we will continue our efforts to disclose more information about other materials and the supply chain to enhance transparency, helping consumers better understand the origins of our products.

Labor Management Audits

As a participating member of the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), ANTA Sports has established internal management systems, proactively fulfilling our fundamental responsibilities in areas such as human rights and labor standards. We strictly prohibit child labor and forced labor, ensure the right to collective bargaining and freedom of association, and promote a corporate culture of diversity and inclusion across multiple dimensions. We have set up indicators, including tracking incidents of forced labor disputes, and continue to monitor and evaluate these areas. As of September 2024, all of our 267 first-tier suppliers have undergone rigorous labor management audits to ensure their production processes adhere to international labor standards, protecting the rights and welfare of workers. This audit mechanism has enhanced the awareness and practice of social responsibility across the supply chain.

We have also arranged for third-party organizations and leading suppliers to conduct training and share insights on relevant topics, aiming to enhance suppliers' knowledge and capabilities, leading to a win-win situation. In addition, we provide suppliers with various training programs, covering topics such as social responsibility audits, Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC) and chemical management, supply chain energy conservation and emission reduction, raw material traceability, product carbon footprint calculation, and supply chain carbon emissions accounting. Through the sharing of policies, technologies, and experiences, we further enhance their awareness of sustainable development, driving the transformation of the entire supply chain towards sustainability.

Lai Shixian, Chairman of the Sustainability Committee and Co-CEO of ANTA Sports, said: "ANTA Sports is deeply committed to enhancing environmental responsibility and social impact through a series of supply chain sustainability initiatives. We are confident that through close collaboration with our suppliers and partners, ANTA Sports will continue to make substantial progress towards achieving the '1+3+5' sustainable strategic goal."
