ANTA Sports listed in the Fortune China 500 rankings and awarded in the Financial Communication Category; DESCENTE launches its recyclable environmentally friendly product series
Hong Kong, 06 August 2020 – ANTA Sports Products Limited (“ANTA Sports” or the “Company”, stock code: 2020.HK, and its subsidiaries collectively the “Group”), is pleased to announce that the Company has been listed in the Fortune China 500 rankings. ANTA Sports rose 62 places from the previous year to 289th, and is the only Chinese sportswear brand on the list.
The evaluation criteria looked at the performances and achievements of the world’s largest listed Chinese companies in the past year. ANTA Sports' revenue in 2019 increased by 40.8% to RMB 33.93 billion, making the Company the only sportswear brand on the list. This achievement solidifies ANTA Sports’ status as a leader in China’s sportswear industry.
In addition to being listed in this year’s Fortune China 500 ranking, ANTA Sports was also awarded the Bronze Award in the Financial Communication Category at the 2020 PR Awards Asia for its acquisition of Amer Sports. When Amer Sports announced the Public Tender Offer, the Company successfully lobbied, resulting in more than 94% of Amer Sports shareholders voting in favour of the merger. This was not only the largest acquisition in the Asian market in 2018/2019, but also served as a steppingstone for ANTA Sports to amplify its brand reputation in China to the rest of the world.
Apart from the notable achievements in business growth, ANTA Sports has been paying close attention to sustainable development by proactively promoting environmental protection measures. Among these efforts, DESCENTE, an ANTA Sports subsidiary brand, recently launched its first recyclable and environmentally protective series called the RE:DESCENTE BIRTH. These new products are made from used clothing. The use of RENU technology transforms secondhand items into RNU*3 polyester. The launch of this series, along with the use of RENU technology, helped ANTA Sports establish its new production ethic: "garment to garment", which implements the environmental protection concept of the recycling economy. Moreover, the ANTA brand has also launched its recyclable shoe products in June. The “Environmental Protection” series of running shoes is made of recyclable materials, as a way of fulfilling sustainable development concepts and corporate social responsibilities.
