ANTA Sports releases latest ESG report and launches its recyclable green shoes product;
Practicing sustainable development with environmentally-friendly products, leading the green trend to build an ecological civilization
Hong Kong, 29 June 2020 – ANTA Sports Products Limited (“ANTA Sports” or the “Company”, stock code: 2020.HK, and its subsidiaries, collectively the “Group”), a leading sportswear company in China, today published its “Environmental, Social and Governance Report 2019” (“ESG Report”). The report demonstrates ANTA Sports’ dedication to promoting the sustainable development of society and protecting its future through practical measures.
As the company’s fifth ESG Report, it is based on the theme “Moving to NATURE” and comprehensively evaluates its environmental, social and governance performance and practices across all major operating points, including the design, development, manufacturing and sales of ANTA Sports over the past year. Engaging a professional third-party consultancy to conduct assessments and provide other environmental data statistics and analysis has helped to strengthen the representativeness, transparency and objectivity of the report.
The Report showcased ANTA Sports’ remarkable achievements in the field of ESG, including conducting an online survey for the first time in order to more efficiently collect stakeholders’ comments on different policies and measures; officially becoming a member of the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI), making ANTA Sports the first sportswear company in China to join BCI; as well as turning discarded plastic bottles into raw materials to launch the A-AWAKE ENERGY series “Train and Recycle”. Moreover, while rapidly expanding its businesses, ANTA Sports has constantly strengthened its overall monitoring and control of its emission of greenhouse gases. Although overall revenue increased, ANTA Sports’ carbon emission growth rate is lower than its revenue growth rate – showing that ANTA Sports’ environmental protection policy is effective.
On the other hand, the company is geared towards promoting the development of sustainable production, responsible consumption and responsible lifestyles. ANTA Sports recently launched its first recyclable shoe model. The “Environmental Protection” series of potent running shoes. The running shoes are composed of environmentally-friendly materials. All the materials used are made from recyclable substances, which help to recycle, minimize waste and optimize resource allocation to the greatest extent. The overall appearance of this shoe is clean and fresh, as the design is inspired by environmental protection elements, such as wood grain and green plants.
