“CUBA fulfills every university student’s basketball dream”, ANTA Sports becomes CUBA’s strategic partner

Embraced the most important basketball sponsorship resources in China

(Hong Kong, 11 October 2009) ANTA Sports Products Limited ("ANTA Sports" or the "Company", stock code: 2020), a leading branded sportswear enterprise in China, is pleased to announce that the Company has become the strategic partner of Chinese University Basketball Association (“CUBA”). ANTA Sports will start to provide professional basketball gear to CUBA for the 2009-2010 Season. The latest partnership complements the Company’s sponsorship deals with the Chinese Basketball Association (“CBA”) and popular CCTV5 basketball program “HOOPARK” earlier. By leveraging on its strong sports resources and experience of sponsorship, ANTA Sports is dedicated to supporting CUBA and nurturing young basketball talents, with the aim to drive the development of basketball in China, especially among young people.

Similar to the university basketball league under the National Collegiate Athletic Association (“NCAA”) in the US, CUBA is a basketball league between all universities in the country that seeks to “boost the development of basketball among universities and nurture basketball talents”. CUBA has been growing from strength to strength since its inception in 1998. Players in the league have also improved in their skills after 11 seasons. Some of CUBA’s key matches are broadcasted live by CCTV every year, making the league one of the most important joint basketball events in China, and almost equal to the CBA in influence.

CUBA has the largest geographical reach and the most number of players. Basketball teams from more than 700 universities with over 10,000 players, coaches and judges participated in  over 2,500 exciting matches each year, which are watched by tens of thousands university and high school students either on the ground or on television. The high level of participation among students in China and their passion for the sport have together created a remarkable basketball culture on campus.

Through sponsoring CBA, the top-tier professional league, and CUBA, the most influential sports event among universities, together with the popular TV program “HOOPARK”, ANTA Sports has strategically formed a complete basketball sponsorship portfolio.
