(Hong Kong, 22 March 2010) ANTA Sports Products Limited ("ANTA Sports" or the "Company", stock code: 2020), a leading branded sportswear enterprise in China, is pleased to announce the 2009-2010 CBA All-star Weekend held from 20 to 21 March 2010. As one of the most celebrated basketball events of the year in China, the CBA All-star Weekend features matches such as Slam Dunk Contest, 3-Point Contest, Skill Challenge, CBA Rookie Challenge and CBA All-Star Game between Team North and South formed by star CBA players. The impressive games attracted numerous basketball fans around the nation who are eager to support their favourite players.
As the equipment and sportswear sponsor for the CBA, ANTA Sports has tailor-made brand new gear for the All-Star Game. Using dark orange as the primary colour, a mixture of matte and shiny materials were used to give the All-Star basketball shoes a vintage look. The shoes provide a snug fit to the feet, offering the players with maximum comfort, balance and stability. The All-star basketball jerseys are available in two colours: blue for Team South, yellow for Team North. The designs were inspired by the Yangtze River which flows through China, dividing the country into Northern and Southern regions. The All-Star lifestyle series was designed with liveliness and trendiness in mind. The clothing is emblazoned with “2010” and “15th” to denote the 15th anniversary of the CBA league.
Prior to the invitation of endorsed CBA players to the announcement ceremony of ANTA’s All-Star basketball gear, ANTA Sports has launched a series of promotional events, such as “I Love CBA” TV commercial, “ANTA Sports - Guess the Starters of CBA All-Star Game”, to take the CBA and CBA All-Star Game fever to new heights. CBA All-Star basketball shoes were launched in the first quarter of 2010 along with the POP of “I Love CBA”. Both were well-received by basketball lovers.
Shen Xue and Zhao Hongbo, popular endorsed player of ANTA Sports and pairs figure skating gold medalists in the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics, attended the CBA All-Star Game and were invited to sit on the judge’s panel of the All-Star Slam Dunk Contest. Sean Williams became the Champion of the Slam Dunk Contest while Team North beat Team South 133 to 121 in the All-Star Game.
