Olympic Spirit Keep Moving, Run for a Healthy China "The 24th Olympic Day Run" kicks off
ANTA Sports join hands with the COC to promote "Sports for All" in nine Chinese cities
(Hong Kong, 22 June 2010) ANTA Sports Products Limited ("ANTA Sports" or the "Company", stock code: 2020), a leading branded sportswear enterprise in China, kicked off "The 24th Olympic Day Run" on 19 June, which was organised by the Chinese Olympic Committee ("COC") and sponsored by its strategic partner ANTA Sports. Minister of the General Administration of Sports of China and President of the COC, Mr. Liu Peng, as well as other officials participated in the unveiling ceremony of the Olympic Day Run for this year at Dehuimen Plaza, Chengde Mountain Resort. The event’s theme for this year was "Olympic Spirit Keeps Moving, Run for a Healthy China". It was held in nine Chinese cities including Chengde, Xiamen, Guangzhou, Wuhan, Chengdu, Harbin, Tianjin, Nanjing and Haiyang. Nearly 20,000 long-distance runners took part in this year’s event in celebration of the birth of the Olympic Games. It was also the largest long-distance running event in terms of the number of participants.
Being a Sportswear Partner of the COC, ANTA Sports sponsored the Olympic Day Run following last year fully supporting the COC to promote Olympic spirit and the popularization of "Sports for All" movement. The T-shirt worn by this year's runners was designed by ANTA Sports and has incorporated Olympic elements. Using blue, green, red, yellow and black as its main colors, the T-shirt's design was inspired by the Olympic rings to reflect the Olympic spirit. The footstep pattern on the T-shirt also highlights the Olympic and "Keep Moving" spirits. A number of ANTA Sports' endorsed athletes, including Li Nina, freestyle skier, Zhang Dan and Zhang Hao, pair figure skaters, Chen Rong, marathon runner, as well as Liu Xiaoyu and Ji Zhe, CBA players, were invited to demonstrate their support for the event. They also offered their encouragements to the participants in Chengde and Xiamen.
"Olympic Day Run" was originally organised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in 1987. It aims to promote the popularisation of sports and the Olympic spirit. As a Sportswear Partner of the COC, nearly 400 ANTA Sports' employees took part in the Olympic Day Run event in Xiamen to demonstrate their support for the "Sports for All" movement. Mr. Ding Shizhong, Chairman and CEO of ANTA Sports said, "We are honoured to be a partner of the COC on the Olympic Day Run event.
