ANTA Sports Sends Cash and Cold Weather Clothing to Ya’an Earthquake Disaster Area
Participates in “Sport-All for All” Charity Project to Support Development of Sports in China
(Hong Kong, 23 April 2013) ANTA Sports Products Limited (“ANTA Sports” or the “Company”, stock code: 2020), a leading branded sportswear enterprise in China, donated RMB10 million in cash and supplies to areas devastated by the earthquake that hit Ya’an, Sichuan Province. The donated material will be used for rescue and relief work, as well as for re-construction.
Separately, the “Olympic Charity Collaboration Alliance” (the “Alliance”) – initiated by the Chinese Olympic Committee (“COC”), the Champion Fund, the Juan Antonio Samaranch Foundation and ANTA Sports – launched and implemented the “Sport-all for all” charity project in Beijing. As the first enterprise to participate in the “Sport-all for all” project, the Company donated RMB20 million in sportswear to nearly 200 schools in over 10 provinces and municipalities in order to promote the Olympic spirit and to boost the popularity of sports at schools.
“Sport-all for all” is the first charity project to be established by the Alliance. Working with athletes and caring enterprises, the project aims to promote the development of Olympic sports in China and contributing to the well-being of society. Well-known athletes such as Zou Shiming, Zheng Jie, Wu Jingyu, Han Xiaopeng, Wang Liping and Mo Huilan were invited to be among the first batch of the Alliance’s caring ambassadors. The caring ambassadors will visit areas of China where sports are relatively undeveloped to participate in sports with children to allow them to experience the charisma of Olympic sports.
Mr. Ding Shizhong, Chairman and CEO of ANTA Sports, said, “The ‘Sport-all for all’ project reflects the Alliance’s commitment to promoting the Olympic spirit and its determination to promote the ‘Sports for all’ concept. It also opens up channels between ANTA Sports and children so as to allow more children to wear comfortable, professional sportswear and to experience the joy and health benefits of participating in sports.” On behalf of all employees of ANTA Sports, Mr. Ding delivered a message of hope to the victims in Ya’an: “We hope our donations will help the victims in the areas affected by the earthquake, and that they can rebuild and resume their lives as soon as possible.”
