ANTA Sports' Climate Targets Validated by SBTi
Showcases the Company's leadership and sustainable development ambitions
(Hong Kong SAR, 3 June, 2024) – ANTA Sports Products Limited ("ANTA Sports" or the "Company", stock codes: 2020 (HKD counter) and 82020 (RMB counter), and its subsidiaries collectively the "Group"), is pleased to announce that the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) has officially validated its science-based greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets, and has determined that the targets are aligned with a 1.5°C trajectory, representing one of the most ambitious designations available through the SBTi process. This significant milestone underscores the Company's commitment to environmental sustainability and its proactive steps towards combating climate change.
ANTA Sports has pledged to reduce absolute Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 42% by 2030 from a 2022 base year and also committed to reducing Scope 3 GHG emissions from purchased goods and services, employee commuting, end-of-life treatment of sold products and investments of 51.6% per USD value added within the same timeframe.
The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is a corporate climate action organization that enables companies and financial institutions worldwide to play their part in combating the climate crisis. The SBTi develop standards, tools and guidance which allow companies to set GHG emissions reduction targets in line with that required to keep global warming below catastrophic levels and reach net-zero by 2050 at the latest.

In a further commitment to sustainability, ANTA Sports has also launched ANTAZERO in Shanghai, the first carbon-neutral retail store in the Chinese footwear and apparel industry. Officially opened on April 22, this initiative highlights the Company's dedication to its "Zero Carbon Mission", incorporating extensive carbon reduction strategies across all operational aspects of the store.
