ANTA Sports Sponsors Olympic Day Run for Fifth Year in a Row

Spreading the “Keep Moving” and Olympic Spirit across China

(Hong Kong, 24 June 2013) ANTA Sports Products Limited (“ANTA Sports” or the “Company”, stock code: 2020), a leading branded sportswear enterprise in China, kicked off the 27th Olympic Day Run, organised by the Chinese Olympic Committee (“COC”) and sponsored by the Company, on 22 June. This year’s Olympic Day Run was the largest in history and was held in 23 cities in China, including Beijing, Chongqing, Xiamen, Fuzhou, Shenyang, Foshan, Hefei, Qingdao, Hangzhou and Wuhan. Nearly 100,000 long-distance running enthusiasts throughout the country took part in this year’s event in celebration of the birth of the Olympic Games.

Being a strategic partner of the COC since 2009 and co-organiser and sponsor of the Olympic Day Run, ANTA Sports has been devoted to promoting the “Sports for All” movement together with the COC over the past five years. In order to better promote the Olympic Day Run and the Olympic spirit, ANTA Sports not only rolled out promotional and recruitment campaigns extensively through CCTV, newspapers, the internet, metro, TV media on public transportation as well as ANTA’s official website and retail stores, but also designed and provided themed T-shirts to the participants. At the same time, the Company set up a long-distance running experience zone at the sites of the Olympic Day Run in 10 major cities and launched interactive online games to demonstrate the fun of running in ANTA professional products.

In addition, the Olympic Day Run also gained attention and support from top athletes and sports celebrities in China this year. Members of the Chinese national freestyle skiing team, including the “Ice Princess” Li Nina, the “Snow Fairy” Cheng Shuang, as well as new star Xu Mengtao, shared their stories and experiences in running to encourage participation in running and all forms of physical activity. Furthermore, sports celebrities such as famous CCTV basketball commentator Yang Yi encouraged participation online through DIY cartoon profile pictures to cheer on those participating in the Olympic Day Run.

Olympic Day was established in 1948 with the aim of commemorating the birth of the modern Olympic Games on 23 June 1894 in the Sorbonne, Paris. From 17 to 24 June each year, various celebratory events are organised by National Olympic Committees from all over the world to commemorate the Olympic Day and to promote the Olympic spirit. The COC has organised the Olympic Day Run before or after 23 June each year since 1987 with the aim of encouraging participation in sports among people of all genders, ages and athletic ability.
